About this place

In the heart of Cheongna International City in Incheon, Cheongna Lake Park wraps a large artificial lake in a walking loop of about 4 km. Three islands float in the lake and the path links four themed zones. It is known for its musical fountain on summer evenings, the traditional-style Cheongnaru Pavilion, and as the baduk park filming location from the drama The Glory.

Around the lake

  • Cheongnaru Pavilion: a traditional-style pavilion by the water, with a giant baduk board and large round baduk stones in the courtyard.
  • Musical fountain: 120 m long, with jets reaching up to 75 m, combined with music, projections and lasers.
  • Outdoor concert hall and rose garden: a stage for performances, a rose garden with seasonal flowers, and the Fantasy Forest playground.
  • Water sports: water leisure activities on the lake.
  • Canal Way: the park connects to Canal Way, a waterway park running through Cheongna, so you can carry on walking along the water.

After dark the lights of the high-rise apartments across the lake shimmer on the water, and many people come just for the night view. The wooden boardwalk under the willows is lovely once the lights come on.

The baduk park from the drama

In The Glory, Dong-eun learns baduk to get close to Ha Do-yeong, the husband of her former tormentor. The "Semyeong City Baduk Park" he is shown building in the middle of a park is this one, and the baduk board used in filming is still here.

Why summer is the best season

Besides the fountain, summer brings water play areas. In 2026 a new splash area of about 235 m², Mulbit Madang, opened and, together with Mulgyeol Maru, let children play in the water until 23 September. Cheongna Lake Library is right next to the park, a good place to escape the midday heat, and there are plenty of restaurants and cafés around, so food is never a problem. Besides The Glory, dramas such as The Guardian and Doctors were filmed in the park.

Tripto tips

  • Opening and fees: open 24 hours, every day; free entry and free parking.
  • Musical fountain (2026): runs 1 May–4 October. Daytime shows Tuesday to Sunday 12:20–13:00, evening shows Friday to Sunday from 20:00 for about an hour, with three shows a day on Children's Day and major holidays. The schedule changes every year, so check before the season.
  • Time needed: a little over 1 hour to walk around the lake, about 2.5 hours with a fountain show.
  • Getting there: the park is about 3 km from Cheongna International City Station on the AREX airport line, so change to a city bus or taxi. Drivers can use the park car parks.
  • Best time: arrive around sunset for the afterglow and night view, then catch the evening fountain show from Friday to Sunday.
  • Walk further: Canal Way, the waterway park connected to the lake, is lit up at night too, so you can keep strolling along the water after your loop.
